The CAE Brunei Multi-Purpose Training Center in Brunei Darussalam was established in 2012 as a joint venture between CAE and the Government of Brunei.
The development of the integrated training facility for the CAE Brunei MPTC is currently nearing completion, and the CAE Brunei MPTC is scheduled to officially open in 2014 in Rimba, Brunei, near the Brunei International Airport. The CAE Brunei MPTC is a world-class training facility that is staffed and operated by Bruneians. The CAE Brunei MPTC will play a key role in further developing the energy, defense, aviation, and emergency/crisis management market segments in Brunei.
The CAE Brunei MPTC includes the development of one of the region's largest helicopter simulator training facilities. CAE has designed and manufactured two CAE 3000 Series helicopter mission simulators representing the Sikorsky S-92 and Sikorsky S-70i Black Hawk helicopters. The Sikorsky S-92 helicopter, which is used extensively by offshore oil and gas operators, is currently in operation at the facility. The CAE Brunei MPTC also will offer training for the Pilatus PC-7 trainer aircraft following delivery of a CAE-built PC-7 flight training device in 2014. The CAE Brunei MPTC will offer comprehensive classroom and simulator instruction for these platforms.
In addition, the CAE Brunei MPTC is now under contract to develop a comprehensive Emergency and Crisis Management Center of Excellence that will support disaster preparedness for Brunei and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
The CAE Brunei MPTC plans to offer additional simulation-based training programs in the future based on market demand and requirements, including training solutions specifically for the energy, aerospace, and technology market segments, as well as other segments of defense such as land and naval training solutions. The CAE Brunei MPTC will serve customers in Brunei and the surrounding Southeast Asia region while helping to grow high-technology, knowledge-based industry in Brunei and provide high-quality jobs for the local economy.
