What Training Course Type Are You Interested In?
Alternate Recurrent - FMS and the Automated Cockpit - Advanced Maneuvers
Alternate Recurrent Training is a topic-based alternative to traditional recurrent training for pilots who are current in type. Pilots must attend this five-day course as a crew. These courses qualify each pilot for a PIC proficiency check (14 CFR Section 61.58 or 61.56 as appropriate) or an SIC review check (14 CFR Section 61.55). Each course (choices listed below) is scheduled to begin on a Monday and includes a topic-based LOFT and a choice of an additional topic for classroom and simulator practice.
This course reviews the operation of advanced navigation systems and approach procedures. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for highly automated cockpits are emphasized. GPS, ADS-B, Traffic Awareness, and Terrain Awareness technologies are presented.
A two-hour review of wake turbulence, its cause and effects, followed by a discussion of avoidance and escape maneuvers. The second simulator session provides the opportunity to practice these maneuvers.

Alternate Recurrent - FMS and the Automated Cockpit - Rejected Takeoff
This course reviews the operation of advanced navigation systems and approach procedures. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for highly automated cockpits are emphasized. GPS, ADS-B, Traffic Awareness, and Terrain Awareness Technologies are presented.
A two-hour review of the hazards and risks of rejected takeoffs combined with strategies for mitigating the risks. SOPs and proper planning are reinforced throughout. The second simulator provides the lab to practice rejected takeoffs and the procedures covered in the course.

Alternate Recurrent - FMS and the Automated Cockpit - Severe Weather/Windshear
This course reviews the operation of advanced navigation systems and approach procedures. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for highly automated cockpits are emphasized. GPS, ADS-B, Traffic Awareness, and Terrain Awareness Technologies are presented.
A two-hour review of thunderstorms and windshear, its causes and effects, followed by a discussion of severe weather avoidance and escape maneuvers. Windshear avoidance and escape maneuvers are practiced in second simulator session.
